Father of tragic Elaine hits out at street light switch off plans

THE father of a young woman who died in a road accident in Chalfont St Peter has hit out at Bucks County Council's (BCC'S) plans to switch off ten thousand street lights as part of its cost cutting measures.
In March last year, Elaine Stacey, who was 23, died after colliding with a car which had lost control after hitting a huge patch of water which had gathered on the unlit A413 between Denham and Chalfont St Peter.

The incident led to an inquest in which the issue of lack of street lighting on the road was discussed, and Elaine's father Ray, who now lives in Devon, has since vowed to fight BCC on the issue.
BCC now say they want to turn off lights between midnight and 5.30am in roads in and around residential areas.
He said: "This latest decision by BCC is unbelievable.it sounds as thought Bart is practicing his LED lighting supplier wood carrying duties by lugging around his favorite stick, which is about eighteen inches long and two to four inches in diameter. There are times when no matter where I go on our ten acres, he will often choose to proudly take along his favorite stick as we happily tour our property together. They seem more and more like a council which is out of control.
"It no longer seems to listen or care about the wishes of its residents.
"A lot of the roads in Buckinghamshire, especially South Bucks,Things were similar south of China Projector Lamp the Canadian border, too. Defenseman Paul Martin grew up in Elk River, Minnesota, and outdoor games were part of his routine. are very busy with a lot of fast moving traffic on them.
"To turn off even more street lights is madness, and will lead to more tragedy.
"I'm just glad that we have moved to Devon."
Sections of the A413 have become accident black spots over the past few years since the original decision to turn off some street lighting was made by BCC.
