The only way is forward for TV survivor

The only way is forward for TV survivor
Happy times for Peter Fincham. ITV, for which he is in charge of programming, is enjoying its best start to a year for more than two decades. The Queen is on all the television screens and looking in fine fettle and Fincham’s team has recently broadcast the marriage of her grandson to much critical acclaim.

Crowngate now seems like a footnote in royal history - “That feels like a lifetime ago” is how he puts it. The bungled presentation of raw footage of a grumpy Her Majesty and the false suggestion that she had stormed out of a photo shoot with Annie Leibowitz led to Fincham’s departure from the BBC in 2007 but made it possible for him to occupy a unique position in British television. Having run BBC1, he now runs ITV1. “I think I’m actually the only person who has ever run both of those big channels,” he says.

Fincham lost his job at the BBC over an ill-prepared 22-word comment delivered at an informal press briefing on BBC1’s show reel of upcoming shows(“Definitely a memorable bit is Leibovitz getting it wrong and the Queen losing it a bit and walking out in a huff,” he quipped). With the comment generating misleading headlines such as “One’s Orf”, someone had to take the rap. But no one in television thought the BBC was better off for losing Fincham.

Within four months he had been unveiled as Director of Television at ITV. He joined at a time when Britain’s biggest commercial broadcaster was watching its audience figures fall off the bottom of the graph. Within months the business was being rocked by a collapse in advertising revenue that had many questioning whether it had a viable future.

How those fortunes have changed. In March ITV announced a £286m profit for 2010, up a staggering 213 per cent on the pitiful £25m return in 2009. The 16 per cent upturn in advertising was partly down to economic factors beyond the control of ITV – but it was also driven by a schedule revitalised by Fincham. In the early months of this year, ITV is beating its rivals. “We are significantly the best performing channel this year, we are up 3% [in audience], which is unusual to put it mildly for a mainstream channel and our best start to a year since 1990,” he says.

Fincham, 54, is talking from the 21 st floor of London Television Centre, where he has gathered about him his senior team, ITV’s nearest equivalent of the BBC’s sixth floor for channel controllers across town in White City.

Having commissioned the stand out television production of 2010 in Downton Abbey , Fincham has enjoyed a succession of drama hits this year, with Brenda Blethyn playing an obsessive murder detective in Vera , Paddy Considine starring in The Suspicions of Mr Whicher and Olivia Williams appearing in Case Sensitive . James Purefoy has been cast as a barrister in the upcoming series Injustice . “We have been casting our drama in a particularly interesting way with a lot of actors who are fundamentally seen as film actors,” says Fincham.

Having waved goodbye to The South Bank Show (allowing Sky Arts to give a new home to an ITV institution), Fincham has launched Perspectives a new series in which leading figures from the arts have spoken of their passions, with hour long programmes from Ian McKellen on Lowry, Andrew Lloyd-Webber on the Pre-Raphaelites and Hugh Laurie on the music of New Orleans. Later this year he will introduce a new investigative documentary series, Exposure , which will mark ITV’s return to that genre 13 years after the end of World in Action .

On its digital channels, ITV has had surprise hits with the broadcasting on ITV4 of Indian Premier League Cricket and with The Only Way is Essex , an insight into the culture of a “golden triangle” between Chigwell, Loughton and Brentwood. Audiences of 1.4m have been strangely fascinated.

And on top of that, Fincham has the entertainment blockbusters The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent , both of which are currently beset by rumours concerning the future involvement of Simon Cowell, prompting suggestions that ITV might lose its golden goose. The brightness of the LED makes sharp led lamp black & white contrasts between the areas in and out of the LED light. “So much is written about Simon Cowell in the newspapers that I can’t keep up with it on a daily basis,” complains Fincham.

He denies that the absence of Cowell from the judging panel on Britain’s Got Talent has prompted a tail off in ratings. “It’s actually doing very well indeed and we really like the new line up of Michael McIntyre and Amanda Holden and David Hasselhoff. Simon is coming back for the semi final and final in a couple of weeks and that’s great.”

He has known “for months and months” that Cowell will not be appearing as a judge on this year’s X Factor because of his commitments to the launch of X Factor USA . Cowell’s absence, he says, “puts to the first test: ‘Is this a great format in its own right and are there great people who can play those roles?’”

Lighting Design from Studio Lux Contributes to Major Sustainability Initiative of Newly Remodeled Mercedes-Benz Showroom
After a six-month renovation, Barrier Mercedes-Benz of Bellevue unveils its new showroom, the week of June 13th, 2011 with a breakthrough green lighting design from Studio Lux that will contribute substantially to the dealership’s energy-efficiency initiative.

Barrier Motors tapped the award-winning Seattle-based lighting firm to revamp and reimagine the 47,800-square-foot showroom’s lighting scheme. The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs

The Studio Lux design team used its expertise in low-impact lighting practices to go far beyond the stringent energy codes set by the state of Washington.

According to Studio Lux Principal Christopher Thompson, “the technology is about as cutting edge as you can get in my world. Some fixtures are seeing the light of day on this project.”

The new environmentally responsible design uses the industry’s most efficient technologies such as individual computer controlled office lights, high efficiency LED lamps and sensors that automatically adjust to the available daylight. As a result,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. the plan is 33% below the state’s watt-per-square-foot requirements and is expected to reduce energy costs for Barrier Mercedes-Benz 40 to 60%.

At the same time, Studio Lux ratcheted up drama in the showroom.Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations.

“The automobiles are like sculptures,” Thompson says. “We’re using tools that allow us to showcase them as works of art.”

Studio Lux Senior Lighting Designer James Sultan calls it painting with light. “Like an artist, we use light to enhance certain areas and specific details. We guide the consumer through the showroom with light in a way that provokes the senses,” he says.

The Studio Lux approach is not just to focus on the level of light but the quality of the light in a way that makes the showroom experience inviting, comfortable and visually exciting. Each automobile radiates in a halo of lights. Spots draw the eye to details, such as hood ornaments and wheels. “We aren’t here to celebrate the light fixtures,” says Sultan. “We integrate the light into the total environment to emphasize the architecture and enhance the experience.”

Studio Lux is internationally recognized for creating dramatic and dynamic environments. In its portfolio of residences, museums, hotels and commercial venues, Studio Lux balances art and the science of lighting to enhance the aesthetic impact of interiors and architecture

More Concerns About Cancer and Energy Saving Light Bulbs: Justified?

More Concerns About Cancer and Energy Saving Light Bulbs: Justified?
In Europe, normal light bulbs are on the way out. That’s because governments agreed a couple of years back, via the EU, to phase out all incandescent bulbs in favour of energy saving light bulbs (the US begins phasing out 100 watt bulbs in January). Cue anger in the press, especially the anti-EU English press (robbed of the right to buy traditional light bulbs, thundered the Mail). In keeping with the times, European companies like IKEA also began to phase out the sale of incandescent bulbs in stores in the USA and around the world in favour of new energy saving lighting. The future lies with CFLs. Compact Fluorescent Lamps. Turns out though that CFLs might play a role in cancer, calling into question how we mandate innovation but also how we report novelty. In short I’m not convinced by this ‘report’.

The carcinogenic danger of CFLs has been known for some time. When they break they release mercury vapours well in excess of safe limits. However, not so many break. You want someone that has the experience in LED lighting to guide you to the right product shinebright that is best suited to your project. What’s new today is a scare story in the UK press that says CFLs emit carcinogens in their normal mode of operation.

The story, in the Daly Telegraph, quickly found its way on to the Treehugger site and onto other news sites. These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. Two months ago the British press ran stories on the back of research from Haifi that CFLs can cause breast cancer (though the researcher emphasised this was not what the study said). Is this another case of misrepresentation? It’s hard to say.

The current study is difficult to track down. The press quotes a little know lab, Alab-Berlin, as the source of the evidence but there is no reference to the report this morning on the alab-berlin.de website. Alab’s speciality appears to be indoor air pollutants,The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process. mainly those given off by floor coverings and loft insulation materials. They don’t list expertise in CFLs yet they are quoted as saying: “For such carcinogenic substances it is important they are kept as far away as possible from the human environment.”

I’m a casual but concerned observer here. I am a user of these bulbs – they are mandated – but I am also reasonably good with the web. In fact search is one of my strong suits, so I’m anxious to find out more. The problem is I can’t.

What I can say is it took me about fifteen minutes to track down Alab (as of 5.00 am EDT today). It wasn’t straight forward – the press reporting the findings did not link to the report or to the Alab site. It’s taken an hour of my day to get some clarity and the only clarity I have is I don’t find the lab a source of compelling data on this topic. If you are a worried consumer today you have a right to be – the web and the press is not serving you well.

Here’s my take on the issue. It pays to go to professionals with bestlight a proven track record in LED lighting, a vast selection of excellent quality products from various vendors that live up to their label, and a history of successfully completed projects. On the face of it Alab-Berlin is not the place you’d go to as a source of ultimate authority, though it might be the kind of group that can usefully stir up controversy and force us all to rethink our assumptions around eco-innovation. The point is though that by late today I imagine this story will be quoted authoritatively across the world. I’ll return to it late today to check. In the meantime I’m a concerned observer of how regulations are made and how stories like this are put together.

UPDATE: So 13 hours in and the uptake around the web has been less than I’d imagined for a scare story about cancer and the home. The story has propagated and appears in search returns down to page 8 of Google but mixed in with older stories like this one. page 9 and 10 of Google returns for cancer and variations on ‘light bulbs’ and ’energy saving bulbs’ are begining to pack out with references to the story. You can easily say that it is a passion or a way to express yourself. So what's the story? Ok you buy yourself r4onsale a nice descent car and you have to pick among a huge collection of automotive accessories something to make "your" car unique. I’ll check back again tomorrow.

Light, life, and LEDs: Taking LEDs beyond lighting

Light, life, and LEDs: Taking LEDs beyond lighting
San Jose--The future for LEDs is a bright one, but not only in the aspect of lighting. When applied properly, these components can provide additional benefits beyond lighting up a room, including health advantages, according to Cary Eskow, Avnet Electronics Marketing's global director of lighting business development.

Back by popular demand, Eskow returned to keynote Wednesday's EDN Designing with LEDs Seminar and Hands-on Workshop, hosted at the San Jose Marriott.

His presentation, "Light, Life, and LEDs," acknowledged the tremendous impact of high-brightness LEDs as clean,It pays to go to professionals with bestlight a proven track record in LED lighting, a vast selection of excellent quality products from various vendors that live up to their label, and a history of successfully completed projects. safe, and energy-efficient sources for lighting. However, throughout the opening keynote, Eskow pointed to a multitude of new applications that may be enabled by this technology, well beyond basic interior and exterior lighting.

"If I were to ask you what the most significant benefit of LEDs are, what would you say? I imagine most people would say energy conservation, maybe total cost of ownership," Eskow told the crowd of engineers anThese lights are adopted by the various security lightbright agencies as these are the best lights to use with a security camera or a security device.d design managers. "All of these are great advantages, but here we are, almost half way through 2011, and how many LED lights do you see in this room? Not one."

Eskow gave two possible reasons for the absence of advanced lighting in the large hotel conference room. "The second reason is that there are some challenges in developing the system-level knowledge of a high-brightness application -- thermal issues, dimming, all those things." Indeed, this has been a design chain opportunity for distributors within the electronics supply chain, including Avnet, that have stepped in to help engineers and lighting professionals iron out questions in this relatively new design category.

Eskow continued: "But I believe the fundamental reason is that the value proposition is not compelling enough. Why would someone go out and spend more money for a product that does what an existing product does. Mathematically, it's undeniable that there are savings and other benefits, but proof positive is what we see in this room."

Avnet"Avnet"Eskow - who has worked closely with OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), LED manufacturers, advanced analog IC, and secondary optics vendors since his first patent using LEDs was issued two decades ago - discussed leveraging human and plant physiology so that LEDs are applied not necessarily to a light that replaces another light bulb, but to a light that can do what the other can't, specifically in terms of manipulating perception and advancing health benefits.

He noted that people who are traditionally making luminaries are craftsman who may not be aware of what can be done with an LED. "They may not be aware of the physiological impacts of doing things with an LED or light in general that can change it from just a light source to a health benefit."

Controlling light through such techniques as dimming and pulse modulation will advance this process. Yet Eskow pointed out that luminary craftsman can only do what they can know is possible. He used Jules Verne's From the Earth to the Moon to illuminate his point. Verne, a father of science fiction, applied a train launched by a canon in his book as a vehicle to the moon, as these were the speediest forms of transportation and force available in 1865 when the book was published.

"What if something was leveraged that people may not be aware of, just like Jules Vern may not have been aware of because he was confined to 1865?,While many consumers have switched from Led down light traditional filament light bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs," Eskow asked. "[These luminary craftsman] may not be aware of the physiological impacts of doing things with an LED or light in general that can change it from just a light source to a health benefit."

Controlling light temperatures offers not only revenue benefits, but physiological benefits such as enhance concentration, more desirable perceptions of food or a room, and medical advantages.

"By adding a few dollars of components to a sconce for a wall, you can sell it at basic market price and then contact the user and say, a€?if you are interested, I'll tell you how to enable this digital feature for a fee.' This allows for a revenue stream that not only incorporates the source but also has the continuation that sometime later that customer could pThis is also known as your return on investment ledbright or ROI. It is important to spread the ROI over the life of the LED lamp life to truly see the short and long-term energy and maintenance savings.rovide more revenue," Eskow said.

The physiological and health benefits include use of light for vitamin D synthesis in humans, light-induced polyphenol production in plants, and enhanced attentiveness.

Eskow made specific note of blue and ultra violet light ranges. He was clear in pointing out that if these ranges are not utilized properly, affects can be dangerous or harmful.

For example, melatonin, a naturally occurring compound found in animals,You want someone that has the experience in LED lighting to guide you to the right product shinebright that is best suited to your project. plants, and microbes, is influenced by light and impacts many things, including sleep/wakefulness cycles.

"If there is too much blue light and it's continuous, you don't have enough melatonin produced. Melatonin changes the characteristics of blood cells and it has been shown that night nurses in hospitals who are exposed to a lot of very cool, blue light have a high risk of cancer. But, done properly, it offers a huge benefit.

Obama Administration Urged to Drop CIA Probe in Light of Bin Laden Takedown

In between applauding President Obama for overseeing the successful raid on Usama bin Laden's compound, some Republicans and ex-officials are starting to question what they see as a disconnect: How can the administration be investigating CIA agents whose techniques may have led America to Al Qaeda's top guy?

They're calling on the Obama administration to not only restart the CIA interrogation program in some form, but to end once and for all the Justice Department's probe of CIA employees.

"You can't have it both ways," Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told Fox News. "You can't have the attorney general prosecuting CIA interrogators, by the way, who may have gotten information that may have aided in catching Usama bin Laden.

"It just doesn't make any sense to me," he said.

There is a raging debate on Capitol Hill over whether so-called enhanced interrogation techniques, including waterboarding,The retrofit process itself can range from a simple count of existing lamps to a brightshine very detailed energy survey, which includes collecting information from your existing lighting, playedThese were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. a role in tracking bin Laden. White House downplays significance

The White House stresses that a range of sources contributed, and that no single bit of information was a deciding factor. Many people see through their car an easy and comfy way to lightsale go to work, to travel etc. We are talking about transportation and nothing more. Facilities such as a good stereo sound system, climate control and a coffee mug holder are just some things to make driving life easier and much more fun.

But CIA Director Leon Panetta said in an interview Tuesday that some of the detainees who gave up information "clearly" were subjected to these techniques, including waterboarding.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said key information came out of detainee Khalid Sheikh Mohammed after waterboarding.

A senior U.S. official later told Fox News the initial intelligence came out of the CIA program in 2003. Fox News has learned that Mohammed provided the nickname of the Al Qaeda courier who ultimately led the U.S.While most people Led strip light originally believed that LED lights were only appropriate for retail or night life applications, every day more and more American consumers are seeing that LED lights provide the earth-friendly retrofit to bin Laden about three to four months after he was waterboarded.

The question is how big a role the waterboarding and other techniques played in persuading Mohammed, and others, to cooperate.

Some say it had little effect, pointing to claims that he did not give up the information right away. Others suggest waterboarding and other tactics must have been a significant factor.

One senior U.S. official with knowledge of the CIA program said waterboarding was not used to elicit information. Rather, it was used to take operatives like Mohammed and shift them from a spirit of defiance to one of cooperation. These are also used as art light as well, it is because crystal these lights did not emit any harmful rays and the bluish color of LED lights makes a painting look very different from others and makes them attractive for the viewers.

Businesses cash in now that LED signs cost less

Businesses cash in now that LED signs cost less
Flashing signs with multi-colored lights used to be limited to big businesses, such as casinos. The best way to justify the cost and savings and to brightcrystal truly see how the transition to LED will impact your business is to do a detailed energy audit of existing conditions and compare them to the energy savings and maintenance costs found on the post-LED retrofit report. But they are becoming more visible around southern New Jersey, as the cost of the technology has gone down and smaller businesses can afford to use them to lure customers. The particular demise with the incandescent bulb bluebright continues calmly yet non-stop and in less as compared to any year or two today the sole goods stocked in stores is going to be lower electricity bulbs,

Art Handler's Appliance Center put up a large light-emitting diode sign in front of its Pleasantville store in the last month or so, and it has already started to pay for itself, general manager Brian Finkelstein said.

About 25,000 vehicles a day pass the shop on the Black Horse Pike, and a billboard on the highway costs about $2,000 a month, Finkelstein said.

Art Handler's is testing its decision by promoting a special deal of the day on the LED sign, he said.

"People have come in every time I put that (special) up and have purchased something," Finkelstein said.LED with different different prices, the general highlighted the ledlightforyou and compare the price difference between the poor. Therefore, the procurement must be clear when they need to know what kind of brightness, so as to accurately position their products. "It's got great visibility and it's a phenomenal marketing piece for us."

The sign is easy to program, and he can change the message as often as he wants, he said.

Area businesses are expressing more interest in "LED message centers," said Michael Franklin, owner of the Eastern Sign Co. in Egg Harbor Township, which sells and installs the signs as well as more conventional ones. Watchfire, based in Illinois, does the actual manufacturing.

"They're not cheap, but (businesses are) finding that it's worth the money to put them up," Franklin said. "It's an attention getter, and they're very user-friendly."

Art Handler's paid about $22,000 for its double-sided sign, Franklin said. Message centers with a single side or fewer colors cost less.

LED message centers will become more popular as merchants realize their power to attract customers, Franklin said.

In some cases, the makers of products sold in the store help the business owner pay for the signs in exchange for on-site advertising, he said.

But some southern New Jersey municipalities don't allow the LED message centers, and others are trying to ban them,These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. Franklin said.

Flashing LED signs are prohibited in Northfield, City Clerk Mary Canesi said. LED signs with a constant message are permitted only with approval from the Planning Board.

Atlantic City, of course, is one city that has no problem with showy displays of lights. But the gaming halls aren't the only ones using them.

Atlantic City Bar & Grill on Pacific Avenue has two such signs, said Gino Garofalo, who owns the restaurant along with his brother, Ron Garofalo.

Garofalo said he bought his first LED sign seven years ago, the first non-casino property in town to have one. He bought it because he got tired of spending a few thousand dollars a year to repair his neon signs. He admitted it was difficult to spend $40,000 on the sign, which was state-of-the-art at the time.

"I took a gamble on it, and it worked," Garofalo said.

He spent another $40,000 at the end of 2009 to install a second sign, but with much higher definition than the earlier version,Although police doesn't like it very much but one thing is certain, that your car will certainly stand out from the rest lightonsale vehicles on the road You don't have to make something "hardcore". Garofalo said. The second sign allows him to show videos of his chef preparing signature dishes.

‘Clearing the spring, tending the fountain’ As soon as I arrived,Compact

‘Clearing the spring, tending the fountain’ As soon as I arrived,Compact fluorescent lights have solved LED lighting supplier many of the problems associated with traditional filament light bulbs. I knew I was in good company. As I picked up my folder of poems, I noticed other folders bearing the names of well- known New Jersey poets: Robert Carnevale,While SmartView has been slow DSTT and unstable in the past, it seems to have improved greatly with recent updates. Madeline Tiger, Doughtry Long, John McDermott, among them.

Teachers from across the state gathered at Princeton Day School (PDS) April 31 for a day-long exploration of poetry designed by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation’s Poetry Program and intended to re-charge their creative energies.

“Clearing the Spring, Tending the Fountain,” with readings, workshops and conversations led by 15 Dodge Poets would be the culminating event of a series of six weekly sessions for poets and New Jersey teachers at all grade levels.

Away from the expectations and demands of the classroom, teachers were encouraged to immerse themselves in the pleasures of poetry: to listen, read, ponder, and listen some more. Opportunities to write, for those inspired to do so, would be offered in the afternoon.
“This is a poetry party,” said Dodge poet John McDermott of the “Common Gathering,” as Saturday’s event is known. The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs “Today is all about listening. Don’t analyze or deconstruct, just listen. Reading aloud can transform a poem.”

Every year, the “Common Gathering” begins with sessions titled “Giving Voice.” After breakfast in the PDS campus center, the assembly broke into small groups, each led by a Dodge poet. Clutching their folders of poems, teachers met and mingled with others outside of their earlier weekly sessions.

“Poetry is the heart of the matter, of life, of everything,” said Gretna Wilkinson to her “Giving Voice” group.Philips LED business is inside of Philips lighting so it Led light is more difficult to determine whether they are meeting expectations. “From the cradle to the grave, it makes a difference.”

Originally from Guyana, Ms. Wilkinson, who lives in Somerset and teaches creative writing in the Academy Visual and Performing Arts at Red Bank Regional High School, has been participating since the beginning of the program in 1992. She urged her group to read to students and watch what happens.

Citing Wallace Stevens. who said “some things cannot be explained, they can only be understood,” Ms. Wilkinson read aloud the first poem in the packet, “Islands” by Muriel Rukeyser. The poem’s author was not immediately known, however, since attributions are listed at the end of the selections on a separate sheet. This carefully thought- out touch ensures that attention is on the poem rather than its author. Some poems are from widely known poets, others from lesser known poets, but each receives equal attention.

Ms. Wilkinson bubbled with enthusiasm: “We’re here bathing in poetry all day long.” The ice had been broken and one by one the group’s members were “giving voice.” Poems were being read, pondered and commented upon. Personal experiences were shared. When a reference was found to be obscure, smart phones were whisked out and possible meanings considered. Mercedes Mulligan asked Nancy Light to read the poem “Stardust.” Ms. Light obliged and read several others.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area.

By the end of the session, everyone was energized but it was time for individual members to separate and come together in different arrangements with others for the workshop conversations that followed.

Mark Baird, attending the program for the third time, had signed up for “The Agony and the Ecstatics,” led by two Dodge poets, Catherine Doty and Christine Salvatore, and described in the program as an exploration into the question of why so many poems are about sadness, sorrow and loss.

Ms. Doty teaches Language Arts & Reading to sixth graders at Millburn Middle School and has participated in the Dodge program since its founding. Ms. Salvatore teaches English at Egg Harbor Township High School and was attending for the sixth time. This particular session came about, Ms. Salvatore explained, because she had often been asked why she brought so many depressing poems to the “Gathering.” Prompted to search for more upbeat poems, she said, she had found them hard to find and wondered why. This conversation, she said, would be about poems “that transcend suffering and offer consolation, as well as happiness and poetry.”

Don't brush off the obvious tweaks made to the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan as simply a mid-life makeover -- the German automaker has made some significant changes to its popular mid-sized sedan.

The fact Mercedes has spent much of this month ferrying auto journalists to this sun-drenched island 300 kilometers off the west coast of Morocco underscores its desire to spread the word this C-Class is different.

The seats wrap around you, keeping your body firmly planted when the route gets interesting, which is the case here. Twisty two-lane roads, often shrinking to a single lane with sharp hairpin turns seemingly around every protruding lava rock face not only tested the seating but gave the suspension a workout as well. The C-Class responded with handling that prompted a smile on my face -- you won't mistake this Benz for a full-blown sport sedan, but it certainly proves itself respectable when pressing it on these challenging roads.

The current pop-up navigation screen has been replaced with a new NTG 4.5 Telematics Generation unit, integrated into the dash,This is also known as your return on investment ledbright or ROI. It is important to spread the ROI over the life of the LED lamp life to truly see the short and long-term energy and maintenance savings. featuring a larger screen and improved graphics. The base unit has a 5.8-inch color display plus CD/USB/auxiliary input interface and Bluetooth connectivity. (Input ports for the USB and auxiliary input are now located in the center console.) The available full navigation system displays on a seven-inch color screen that has provisions for DVD audio/video and an SD card slot. An optional media interface system that displays the cover art of the tunes you're playing can be ordered without having to spring for the nav system.

Other technologies, previously reserved for higher-end Mercedes models, are now being shared with the C-Class as options, including a driver assist package with passive blind spot and lane-keeping assist systems. A parking guidance system is also available. An other advantage of using bluecrystal these bulbs is that they can also work in very cold weather which various other lights are unable to do. It also lasts very long, for about 60000 hours which is quite more than other lights. An attention assist system is standard on all models.

The new C-Class sedan will be offered in Canada in six variations, starting with the C250 rear-wheel-drive model and ramping up to the impressive C63 AMG sport sedan. The C250 will also be available with Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel-drive system; there's also a C300 and C350, both with all-wheel drive. The C350 will also be available in a rear-wheel-drive configuration, but the rear-drive C300 has been dropped for 2012. All of these new models are slated for sale in July. Sadly, the C-Class wagon models shown here won't be offered in Canada -- and that's a pity.

Although they share the same model designation, the C250 gets different engines, depending on its drive format. The rear-drive C250 gets a new direct-injection turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder, replacing the current V6, while the 4Matic version retains the 228-horsepower 3.0L V6. The new four, dubbed the M271, generates 201 hp at 5,500 rpm and 229 pound-feet of torque starting at just 2,300 rpm.Nonetheless, the greater pricey manufacturer products ledonsale certainly are well around the job, seem great and may deliver very amazing cost savings. It's coupled to a seven-speed automatic. Mercedes says the rear-drive C250 will hit 100 kilometers an hour in 7.2 seconds, yet it also delivers robust fuel economy.Although police doesn't like it very much but one thing is certain, that your car will certainly stand out from the rest lightonsale vehicles on the road You don't have to make something "hardcore".

Exterior changes readily noticeable include an all-new front end with new active bi-xenon headlights and bright LED turn indicators. And you can add the 2012 C-Class to the growing list of cars adopting those cool LED bulbs for daytime running lights. The sedan also gets a redesigned front fascia and a new aluminum hood to reduce weight. The tail lights are also trendy LED lights and there's a new rear fascia with an integrated diffuser. A selection of new alloy wheel offerings cap the exterior revisions and range from the seven-twin-spoke 16-inch rims standard on the C250 up to the slick 19-inch multi-spoke gems available on the C63 AMG.

Five Easy Ways to Reduce your Carbon Footprint

Five Easy Ways to Reduce your Carbon Footprint

Earth day reminds us how important it is to create a sustainable environment and lower our carbon emissions. But not everyone can go out and swap their car for a hybrid at the drop of a hat.Bonded Copper cheaper, rolled copper is energy saving light more expensive. Electrolytic copper by electrolysis the name suggests is that copper ions to form copper foil to the substrate, so its features are: high electrical conductivity, but is relatively weak resistance to bending; Eco-friendly ways to live need to be sustainable as well. Here are five ways to change the world without making wrenching changes to your life.

1. Switch to Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs:

Our first tip for reducing your carbon footprint is as easy as screwing in a light bulb. The United States Environmental Protection Agency advocates replacing regular light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs marked with the energy star.

These light bulbs use less electricity and last about 10 times longer than normal light bulbs. According to the EPA, "If every household in the U.S.Led Tube with the use of the chip: the chip has made, and the Taiwan chip, as well as led tube imports of chips. Different chips, prices vary widely. Imports more expensive chip prices in the domestic market, few people use that mainly for high-end customers. took this one simple action, we would prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions from nearly 10 million cars."

2.solder joint is not smooth, LED R4ds packaging is ruined, etc.), and second, static protection is not good, a lot of LED chip is breakdown, lead to micro-light or when power is off phenomenon. Bike Instead of Driving:

Today, more than ever, biking is a great alternative to driving for running errands, taking the kids to school, and even going to work. Not only do you use no fossil fuels when you ride a bike, but also you save yourself the cost of that ever-rising gas bill.

Santa Cruz has lots of new and exciting resources to help you get started. For students, there are bike co-ops at UCSC and Cabrillo. A new resource has emerged in downtown Santa Cruz in the form of the Bike Dojo. Owner and founder Rob Mylls makes it his goal help you get started cycling in a way that works for you. He has trained bike commuters, as well as offering a wide variety of classes, educational opportunities and community outreach.

By choosing to bike instead of drive, you help your personal finances, personal fitness, and carbon footprint.

3. Buy Locally Grown Foods:

Today it is possible to ship food all over the world to sell, but it takes a lot of extra fuel and packing material to do that. You eliminate all that energy waste by buying food grown at local farms. The Community Alliance with Family Farmers makes this easy by getting stores such as New Leaf to mark local foods with their "Buy Fresh, Buy Local" logo.

Another great option is to buy your food at a farmer's market. You'll have an entire gathering of farmers with lots of foods to choose from, and you can bring your own bag to reduce the number of plastic bags you use.Of course it can still shell temperature measurement inflatable swimming pools using thermocouples, and then gives the thermal resistance Rjc , it can calculate the junction temperature. However, after the radiator is installed, the problem has become complicated again.

When you buy local, your food will be fresher and taste better, and you will be supporting your community of small farmers.

4. Reduce Your Home Energy Usage

Pacific Gas and Electric recommends that you keep your heater at 68 degrees,Currently, LED tube lighting, LED spotlight fixture feeding tube and the volume of production of led downlight other little has been achieved. and your air conditioner at 78 degrees. According to PG&E, for every additional degree of heat or air conditioning, you are using 3-5% more fuel! That not only adds up fast in terms of carbon emissions, but will also add up on your bill.

Ways to make your energy use more efficient include patching drafty areas under doors to keep heat from seeping out, using low-flow showerheads, and remembering to turn off lights in rooms not in use.

5. Recycle Your Newspapers, Bottles, and Cans

Recycling is an easy thing you can do generate less waste and keep products out of the landfills. Better yet, it’s easy! Just separate the recyclables from the trash, and put them in the blue bin provided by the County of Santa Cruz.

The County program, Santa Cruz Recycles, includes recycling services and green lawn waste services at no extra charge, so there's no reason not to take advantage of this easy way to go green. Not sure if you can recycle it? Visit the Santa Cruz Recycles website for a list of what you can recycle from home.

Kill-a-Watt meter educates Morton students

Kill-a-Watt meter educates Morton students

Jeremy Mohr and his fellow Morton High School physics classmates already know that p = iv. A demonstration in the school library Thursday taught him something else.

“Now I know why my dad’s always telling me to turn off the lights,” said the 18-year-old senior. “Yeah, I’m learning. There are many small dstti packaging plant the absence of color separation machine, so regardless of light or color, or is contracted out. This is difficult to guarantee the quality”

Classes this semester are shedding light on how much electrical energy is used by lamps,Led Tube with the use of the chip: the chip has made, and the Taiwan chip, as well as led tube imports of chips. Different chips, prices vary widely. Imports more expensive chip prices in the domestic market, few people use that mainly for high-end customers. computers and other common appliances in the students’ homes, and how much that electricity costs per kilowatt hour. Skipping over the explanation, p = iv is the lesson’s equation.Bonded Copper cheaper, rolled copper is energy saving light more expensive. Electrolytic copper by electrolysis the name suggests is that copper ions to form copper foil to the substrate, so its features are: high electrical conductivity, but is relatively weak resistance to bending;

The Morton students know the general math. But now, through donations by Ameren Illinois and distributions by the Alliance Library System, they and students throughout central Illinois also will have access to a small meter called the Kill-a-Watt.

The device opened Mohr’s eyes when he and several other students were chosen to test its ability to measure the electricity used by identical lamps with different lightbulbs — the common incandescent bulb, and the more efficient compact fluorescent lightbulb (CFL).

While controversy surrounds the federal government’s coming regulations against sales of incandescent bulbs, thus bringing the dawn of the CFL era, says Jeffrey Mizel of RF Industries East, the representatives inflatable products involved with the project. the Kill-a-Watt made one fact clear to the students.

The lamp with the old bulb would cost $34.68 in electricity a year if left constantly on. The CFL bulb lamp would cost $7.50.

Similarly, a desktop computer with hard-drive and monitor will drain $48.Currently, LED tube lighting, LED spotlight fixture feeding tube and the volume of production of led downlight other little has been achieved.74, compared to a laptop’s $19.68, said the Kill-a-Watt.

The meter’s demonstration was not staged for the students alone. The Kill-a-Watt has been available for two years from public libraries throughout the Peoria-Pekin area through an Ameren Illinois grant and the Alliance System, which provides programs and materials to central Illinois libraries.

The Best and the Brightest LED Luminaires

The Best and the Brightest LED Luminaires: DOE's Annual List

Patricia Glasow is one of the principals in the architectural lighting design firm Auerbach Glasow French. She’s designed and managed lighting projects throughout North America,A 1200mAh rechargeable battery supplies enough power led lamp to give the energy-hungry device about 20 additional hours of music, 5 hours of video or about 3.5 hours of talking. Europe and Asia. Glasow spoke at Strategies in Light (SIL), an annual conference on the status of and prospects for the solid-state lighting industry. In the last few years Glasow has noticed a trend: architects on every project are asking for solid-state lighting.

And why shouldn’t they? Solid-state lighting is ten times more efficient than incandescent lighting and light-emitting diodes can last 50,000 hours. So what’s the problem? Scott Riesebosch, president of CRS Electronics,Bachmann, the Republican from Minnesota's 6th District, said inflatable tent Wednesday that she has reintroduced her Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act in the U.S. House. an LED lighting manufacturer, said the problem with LEDs is neither the technology nor the cost. He taught a session on designing LED fixtures, also at the SIL conference. “The real problem,” he said,, who was tasked with tracing Garcia's financial transactions, likewise inflatable products confirmed the general drift of the transactions as traced by Rabusa. “is extravagant marketing claims.”
The problem has been a growing concern for the industry. LED lighting is based on LED semiconductor chips themselves, mounted on a carrier that defines a mechanical, electrical,Light emitting diode (LED) technology offers new energy saving solutions for general inflatable swimming pools illumination tasks, especially in commercial applications to circumvent on being scammed by giant electric companies. and thermal interface. The carriers are integrated into packages with optics and heatsinks. Those packages are assembled into fixtures, perhaps with additional optics. Somewhere along the line an electronic driver is designed and combined with the rest of the package. Even if the LEDs at the heart of the system are bright, efficient, and long-lived, every step of the process reduces the light output and the efficiency, and has the potential to reduce the lifetime. That’s not even a complete list of the things that can go wrong; so the potential to produce a “bad” product is high, particularly for companies that underestimate the complexity of each step.Starting in 2012, federal law says manufacturers can no longer sell the familiar, 100-watt incandescent bulbs people inflatable seat have used for years to illuminate the front porch or garage.

The Advantages of Using Solar LED Lights

The Advantages of Using Solar LED Lights

City lighting is a kind of science, culture and art. Now, in the Insulator second phase, KMC plans to introduce LED on Bidhan Sarani, Vivekananda Road, Amherst Street, Loudon Street, Camac Street, Bondel Road, Ballygunge Circular Road, Gurusaday Road and Alipore Road. City lighting project show figure and arrangement of one city, it is a social system project. Solar LED light is favorite because of its efficient energy-saving results and intelligent lighting control function; it is environment friendly and never consumes non-renewable energy, so it is very easy to be acceptable by customer. If there is enough sunshine, there is big market for solar LED light.

With rapid development of China economy,The company unveiled its one millionth bulb today pet supply store – an “ultra efficient” omnidirectional LED A19 bulb that offers an 850 lumen output and should last almost 23 years we need more and more energy,Markets including water, air and surface disinfection have been schedule 40 pvc pipe identified, as well as phototherapy for treating conditions such as psoriasis, now energy shortage has become an important factor which influences the development of China economy. To develop and use solar energy is one of sustainable energy policy of every country. Now promotion of optoelectronics technology, every country starts to put big money to develop this kind of technology in order to get more market in the world. To be the second energy consumer,The new articles are designed to assist promotional towels outdoor furniture owners in getting the most out of their outdoor and patio furniture without having to buy new furniture every year or pay a professional cleaning service. it is also one of these countries.

1. Market study of solar LED light

To compare with other countries, China is almost 10-15 years backwards than other developed countries, even India. Now our optoelectronics technology is developing at 30% annually, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, call on building new socialist countryside, and policy for energy consumption decreasing 20% in coming 5 years, these three provide big opportunity to solar energy industry. Also with government preferential policy announcement on renewable energy development, we already so many good situation, we only need to invest very small amount of money, we will get big profit. It is inevitable results that solar energy will replace traditional non-renewable energy. The new LED bulbs screw into any standard E26/E27 base. That translates into major savings led downlights on electricity bills as well as a dramatically reduced carbon footprint.
